RICHLAND – A woman has died and a man is in stable condition at a local hospital following a domestic dispute Thursday morning on the 50 block of Cosmic Lane involving a knife, according to the Richland Police Department.

Officers responded to the scene at about 5 a.m. and discovered two stabbing victims. The Benton County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as Bethany Jean Lowe, 47. The male stabbing victim has been identified as Bethany’s boyfriend, Andy Davis, 45.

“When officers arrived on scene they contacted a male that was holding a knife, Lt. Damon Jenson said in a news conference. “A few officers were able to detain and place that person into custody without further incident.”

The suspect is Bethany’s son, David Joseph Lowe, 29, of West Richland. He is being held on an investigative hold for second-degree murder and first-degree assault. According to the Richland Police Department, the Benton County Prosecutor’s Office will have up to 72 hours to determine what the final charges against David Lowe will be.

Police said both stabbing victims were rushed to Kadlec Regional Medical Center. Bethany Jean Lowe did not survive the attack.
