HERMISTON – A Hermiston man was arrested last week, after it was discovered he was wanted on a warrant from an incident in August 2024 in which two men were stabbed.

On March 17 Hermiston police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance on East Highland Avenue. When they responded they found that 19-year-old Jacob Padberg was wanted for two counts of felony second-degree assault, one count of felony unlawful use of a weapon and one count of felony attempted first-degree robbery.

The warrants stemmed from an incident in August 2024 in Umatilla County in which Padberg is alleged to have stabbed two men in the course of attempting to commit a theft. One of the counts also states that physical force was used in an attempt to coerce one of the men to deliver stolen property.

Padberg’s bail was set at $50,000. He was ordered to have no contact with the victims in the case, and not to purchase or possess firearms. As of March 23 Padberg was no longer listed on the Umatilla County jail roster.
