Dist. 10 Commander invites Grant County students to oratorical contest

JOHN DAY – American Legion’s Oregon District 10 Commander Jim Jerome was on KJDY’s Coffee Time to salute local veterans. Also, Jerome mentioned the American Legion Oratorical Contest for local college students within the district:
“Right now, we are into the oratorical program, which is learning the U.S. Constitution forward and backward. The way that works, is your registrar at the college that you are enrolled in—and that can be a trade school, by the way—the registrar will send a notice or a letter requesting the funds that we have in escrow for that person…and you do not have to be a veteran.”
