PENDLETON – The Pendleton School District has selected Kevin Dinning to be the new principal at Washington Elementary School. He is currently the superintendent and secondary principal for the Ione School District. Prior to that he served as a middle school principal and as both an elementary and high school principal in Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

A news release from the Pendleton School District states that Dinning’s colleagues describe him as a talented leader who is thoughtful, considerate, and consistent. He was also praised for having a high level of integrity and for putting the needs of students, staff, and parents at the forefront of his decisions.

“Mr. Dinning possesses the qualities we were looking for in our next Washington Elementary principal – high integrity, talented leader, student-centered, and a strong communicator,” Pendleton School Superintendent Kevin Headings said. “Finding someone with knowledge and understanding of our region and who is familiar with Pendleton was also important to the selection committee.”

Dinning will replace Coree Terjeson who resigned earlier this year, effective on June 30. His contract begins on July 1.
