News release from Milton-Freewater Police Chief Doug Boedigheimer

Type of Incident:  Shots Fired with injuries

Date:  08/20/2022

Time:  12:01 A.M.

Location:  115 SW 1st Avenue, Milton-Freewater

Summary:

On the listed date at the listed time, Milton-Freewater Dispatch received 911 calls reporting shots fired in the area of 115 SW 1st Avenue.

MFPD responded and discovered that multiple shots had been fired, and several victims suffered gunshot wounds.

A multi-agency response occurred, to include Washington State agencies, as well as the Umatilla/Morrow Major Crimes team, the Oregon State Police Crime Lab,  who processed the scene for evidence, as well as members of the Umatilla District Attorney’s Office.

Several victims were transported to St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla. The investigation is ongoing, and no further details can be released at this time.

MILTON-FREEWATER – A shooting in Milton-Freewater in the area of Southwest First Avenue has occurred. Multiple victims are reported by various unofficial sources.

The Oregon State Police can only confirm that a shooting did occurred and their agency was called to the scene for assistance. The city of Milton-Freewater has said that any information released to the media must come from the Umatilla County District Attorney’s Office.
