Dense fog advisory this morning for Blue Mountain foothills

UPDATE: The advisory has been extended to include the northern Blue Mountain foothills of Oregon, including Milton-Freewater, Pendleton, and Pilot Rock.

WALLA WALLA – The National Weather Service has issued a dense fog advisory for the foothills of the Blue Mountains in Washington, which includes the cities of Dayton, Walla Walla, and Waitsburg. Dense fog in the area could mean visibility of a quarter mile or less for drivers, especially along U.S. 12 from Walla Walla to Dayton.

The advisory is in effect until 10 a.m.

It’s recommended drivers in dense fog areas slow down, use their headlights, and leave plenty of distance to vehicles ahead.
