EASTERN OREGON – According to the Oregon Department of Transportation, a couple of road construction areas will cause delays and be controlled by flaggers. Highway 244 at Milepost 36, between Red Bridge and Starkey and I-84 between Milepost 238 and 242 which could impact your travel.
On I-84 placement of reinforcement for the new concrete pavement in the right lane will continue. Paving of an asphalt overlay on the old 2 lane highway starting at Spring Creek, going through Kamela, and ending at the I-84 Interchange at Meacham has been postponed until the week of June 14. When it begins, traffic will be controlled by flaggers and pilot cars during work hours and travelers can expect up to 20 minute delays. This work will not affect I-84 traffic. Remember that the speed limit through the work zone is 50 MPH.
