PRAIRIE CITY – Bob Shives, Director of DeWitt Museum in Prairie City was on KJDY’s Coffee Time recently. Bob explained to listeners that the estate of Del Raymond has donated an old freight wagon to the museum—one that was actually used at the historic Prairie City railroad depot:
“The Del Raymond Estate just recently actually confirmed that Del’s wishes were to donate his freight wagon, which, historically was one that was used to haul freight from the depot to downtown.
The train would stop at the depot, and the fright wagons would load it [from there].”
Shives said it’ll be a little while before it gets put up in the park.
