WALLA WALLA – The total number of deaths linked to COVID-19 in Walla Walla County now stands at 26. The Department of Community Health reported five deaths as of late Monday.
The deceased are a man in his 50s, a man in his 70s, and three women in their 70s. The department did not reveal whether the five had underlying medical conditions.
The state Department of Health announced just under 7,000 new positive COVID-19 tests on Monday, but now reports that number is not a true reflection of the daily case county. DOH stated that the total included a number of positive tests that had been backlogged as well as duplicates that had not yet been resolved.
DOH said the most accurate representation of daily COVID-19 activity is found on its dashboard in the epidemiologic curves tab. The dashboard can be accessed at https://www.doh.wa.gov/Emergencies/COVID19/DataDashboard.
