PENDLETON – Pendleton’s Fourth of July Independence Day Parade is set for that Sunday at 10 a.m. Organizer Fred Bradbury of Let ’er Buck Post 922 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars says those who want to participate and be announced and judged need to fill out entry forms by Friday of this week.

“It makes it difficult for us if the entry forms come in after the 25th, because we have an information packet that has to be delivered before the parade,” Bradbury said.

Entries are not restricted to local groups. Bradbury said there have been groups from Walla Walla, Milton-Freewater, Helix, the Tri-Cities, and Portland in past years.

Each entry will receive a blue entry number along with a line-up map indicating where to go during the last week of June. In addition, volunteers will be on hand to help people find their line up spots.

Trophies will be awarded in a number of categories. They include First Responders & Armed Forces, People with Pets, Horse & Buggy/Wagon, Floats, Motorized, Youth Groups, Motorized, and Equestrian Groups.

Entry forms are available at the Pendleton Chamber of Commerce and Elite Guns and Tactical. For more information or to receive a form electronically, email fbradbury@yahoo.com.
