DAYVILLE – Students are off this week, enjoying a week-long break from school. Dayville School District Superintendent Dr. Davida Irving was on KJDY’s Coffee Time Thursday morning, and said come Monday, students will have an all-new playground to come back to and enjoy on school grounds. Dr. Irving said thanks to some grant funding, the preschoolers will have their own space and equipment:
“A good part of it is being paid out of the Preschool Promise grant. What we did, was—we have one playground, but it’s separated. So, we turned one of the playgrounds into a preschool playground, which is good for students ages 2-5, and the one right across, I would say, is Kindergarten through 6th Grade.“
Construction and installation of the new playground began a couple of weeks prior to sprink break, according to Dr. Irving.
