WALLA WALLA – Walla Walla Community College has partnered with The Kids’ Place to open a second location on its main campus next year. The Kids’ Place preschool and licensed childcare facility has been operating on the campus of Whitman College since 1985.

The new WWCC location will serve infants, toddlers, and children up to five years of age. Minor renovations at the new WWCC location have begun and The Kids’ Place is starting the licensing process.

Earlier this year, Bright Beginnings day care, which operated in leased space on the WWCC campus, voluntarily closed during an investigation.

Washington State Department of Children, Youth and Families Communications Administrator Nancy Gutierrez confirmed Wednesday that an accusation of physical abuse brought against a Bright Beginnings day care employee was deemed unfounded and the license is open as of last week.
