PASCO – Darigold, Inc. hosted a commemorative groundbreaking ceremony Thursday at the site of its future production facility in Pasco. The $600 million facility is slated to open in early 2024.

When fully operational, the facility will have the capacity to produce some 175 million pounds of butter per year. Additionally, nearly 280 million pounds of powered milk products annually, which will be used in applications such as infant formula.

Due to the facility’s location within the Port of Pasco on the Columbia River, Darigold will have access to both rail and barge facilities which will help products be distributed to both domestic and global customers. The company plans to hire some 200 employees and rely on more than 100 dairy farms in surrounding communities once fully operational.
