HEPPNER – The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office reports that a dangerous pursuit on Monday ended with three people in jail and little collateral damage.

Public Information Officer Lt. Melissa Ross wrote in a news release that MCSO was alerted to a theft by a resident who was on Three Mile Canyon Road following the suspects. The suspects were driving a gray SUV pulling a small trailer.

Sgt. Nathan Braun and Deputy Dalton Garcia responded and spotted the suspects on the back roads south of Boardman traveling at speeds of up to 70 miles per hour.

“The trailer lost its tires and was throwing sparks, so Boardman Fire was put on standby,” Ross wrote. “As the sparks were flying and items bounced out of the trailer, the suspects still refused to stop.”

MCSO reports that the SUV drove a pickup off the road and sped past multiple vehicles and pedestrians. Ross reported that they followed a circuitous route through fields and on roads, finally stopping when they lost a tire on the SUV.

Lawrence Allen Perrin, 45, of Irrigon is charged with second-degree theft, second-degree criminal trespass, and felony attempt to elude. Maria Anita Price, 37, of Hermiston and Jonathan James Price, 39, of Hermiston are facing second-degree theft and second-degree criminal trespass charges.
