Crews responded and made quick work of a fire 10 miles NE of Baker City yesterday

BAKER CITY – (Release from Oregon Department of Forestry) Fire resources responded to the #Salt Creek Fire on July 28th located 10 miles northeast of Baker, Lookout-Glasgow Rangeland Fire Protection Association (RFPA). We appreciate the quick response from our local ODF resources and our partners U.S. Forest Service – Wallowa Whitman National ForestBureau of Land Management and RFPA. 

“This was a great example of interagency cooperation on a fire that had quite a bit of potential.” Said Steve Meyer, ODF Fire Manager out of Baker City. The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.

Hot and dry conditions are expected to persist throughout the week. Fire officials want to remind everyone that the current fire danger rating remains HIGH. Fire restrictions are in place to help prevent human-caused wildfires.
