Crews pull submerged truck, trailer from water at Umatilla Marina

UMATILLA – Umatilla Police officers and the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office Marine Patrol came to the rescue Thursday after a truck became submerged at the Umatilla Marina.
Officials said that shortly after 3 p.m., a patron parked at the boat ramp to launch a vessel. While tying the boat to the dock, the truck began sliding backward into the water, becoming completely submerged within a few minutes.
The Marine Patrol connected a winch to the truck to pull both the vehicle and trailer out of the water. Containment booms were deployed around the truck while it was underwater to trap potential contaminants.
