ENTERPRISE – Fire crews continue to make progress on the Burnt Creek Fire north of Enterprise, with evacuation order dropped and containment reaching 63%.

Officials said the fire remains within its footprint, showing moderate fire behavior consisting primarily of smoldering, backing, and creeping withing the Davis and Swamp creek drainages.

Nearby, the Eggo Fire still has area closures in effect for both Zumwalt and Crow Creek roads.

Smoke from wildfires throughout eastern Oregon and Washington continues to affect Wallowa County, where an air quality alert is in effect. Air quality monitors on Tuesday measured levels considered unhealthy for the general public and sensitive groups.
