Crews contain debris fire south of Baker City

BAKER CITY —  Late Thursday night, crews were able to contain a small debris fire between I-84 and Old U.S. Highway 30, about 2 miles southeast of Baker City. The Sutton Creek Fire was reported into Baker County Dispatch at approximately 11:38 p.m. on September 25th.

Firefighters from the Baker City Fire Department, Baker Rural Fire District, and Keating Rural Fire District responded to the blaze that was reportedly burning in debris. According to WildCAD, the Sutton Fire only grew to a tenth of an acre before crews had it under control. BCSO Deputy Ebeling also responded to the scene.

Information was given to Vale BLM Dispatch, Durkee Rural Fire Protection Agency, and the Oregon State Police. A cause for the fire has not been listed.
