Crash ejects driver and passenger, charges pending

LA GRANDE – Oregon State Police responded to a single vehicle crash on Highway 351 (Wallowa Lake Highway). The investigation showed the driver Dylan Staigle, 20, had drifted out of his lane and struck an unoccupied vehicle. After the impact, Staigle’s vehicle went out of control and exited the roadway before it crashed into a rock wall, causing the vehicle to roll. Both the Staigle and a juvenile passenger were ejected from the vehicle. According to OSP, speed and alcohol contributed to the crash. Alcohol related charges are pending. Both Staigle and the juvenile passenger were taken to a nearby hospital.
