COLLEGE PLACE – College Place Public Schools and community volunteers will be dropping off donation bags throughout the city today (Tuesday) through Thursday for its annual food drive in support of families in need.
Volunteers will return to pick up the bags filled with donated nonperishable food items this Sunday between noon and 3 p.m. Food that is needed the most includes canned chili, canned soups, canned fruits and vegetables, dry cereal, pasta, nuts, nut butters, canned meats, canned sauces, and pancake and waffle mixes.
The district is working with Eden’s Pantry, located on the campus of Walla Walla University, to create food boxes. The boxes will end up containing enough food to feed a family of four for a week.
The food box pickup will be Thursday, April 27, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Eden’s Pantry, 212 SW Fourth Street in College Place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Anyone who is in need of food is welcome to come and pick up a box at that time.
