CPOF opts to help SRCI Captain with terminal cancer

ONTARIO — Things may look just a bit brighter for a Captain with the Snake River Correctional Institution in Ontario, who has qualified for assistance through the Correctional Peace Officers Foundation (CPOF). According to a release from CPOF, “Captain Jaime Herrera has been diagnosed with a rare, terminal cancer in his kidneys that has spread to his bones. Captain Herrera has missed work due to cancer treatments and is traveling over 50 miles for his appointments.”

CPOF offers a Catastrophic Assistance Program for staff members or officers at correctional facilities who are affected by an injury, illness, and other serious events. Learn more about the program at www.cpof.org.
