WALLA WALLA –Providence St. Mary Medical Center is experiencing a shortage of COVID-19 testing supplies. Due to the shortage, the hospital is now reserving COVID-19 testing for hospital patients only.

“We are reserving our limited testing supply for the most urgent needs while our supply chain team works with vendors and public health partners to obtain additional testing supplies,” Director of Communications Kathleen Obenland said.

Visitors to the hospital’s emergency department will not be tested unless they are admitted to the hospital.

Obenland said the hospital is asking people with mild symptoms to isolate at home and seek care from their primary care provider or urgent care clinic before coming to the emergency department. To find a testing site in Walla Walla, visit https://www.covidwwc.com/testing-locations
