WALLA WALLA –Administrators at the Walla Walla Senior Center announced Thursday a vaccinated employee has tested positive for COVID-19. Due to close contact with this employee, several other kitchen staff members have had to quarantine.

“We are therefore closing down the nutrition program until our kitchen staff is able to return,” administrators announced on the senior center’s Facebook page. “In addition, we are closing the senior center until it is safe to reopen because of the increase in new COVID-19 cases in Walla Walla County”.

The closure includes the pool room, game and card room, morning coffee and the iPhone exploration class on July 20.

Administrators apologized for the inconvenience and ask the public to check the Walla Walla Senior Center Facebook page, website or answering machine at 509-527-3775 for updates on when it will reopen.
