UMATILLA COUNTY – COVID-19 counts are going down in Umatilla County. After 11 weeks of reporting 100 or more cases, only 85 were counted last week. Umatilla County Board of Commissioners Chairman George Murdock is pleased but is keeping a watchful eye on the Christmas holidays.
“Any time we have a major event that brings groups of people together, we always see an upward spike,” he said. “We don’t want to, but we do.”
Murdock said he’s not a Grinch but urges people to be cautious.
“I would encourage family members if they’re ill and have symptoms, do your family a favor and don’t attend,” he said.
