SPOKANE โ A document filed in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Washington on Wednesday confirmed that Travis Decker, who has been wanted since June for the murder of his three young daughters, is deceased.
The Chelan County Sheriffโs Office announced on September 19 that human remains were discovered in a remote wooded area south of Leavenworth, and that preliminary findings suggested they were Decker. The document filed says the U.S. Marshals Service advised that Decker was deceased and asks the court to dismiss the complaint.
Authorities were searching for Decker since June when his three daughters were reported missing after a scheduled court-approved visitation with their father Travis. Their bodies were found June 2 at a campground near Leavenworth and Travisโs truck was found abandoned in that same area.
