WALLA WALLA โ A couple originally from New Hampshire, Francis E. Hebert, 53, and Hannah D. Hebert, 49, were sentenced to more than 84 years each Wednesday after being found guilty by a jury of their peers in Walla Walla County Superior Court of multiple sex crimes against two children.
The Heberts were each convicted on six different felony counts. Mr. Hebert was charged with first-degree rape of a child, first-degree child molestation, second-degree rape of a child, first-degree incest, plus two counts of third-degree rape of a child. Mrs. Hebert was charged with first-degree conspiracy to rape a child, first-degree conspiracy to child molestation, second-degree conspiracy to rape of a child, first-degree conspiracy to incest, plus two counts of third-degree conspiracy to rape of a child.
The jury determined that the crimes were part of an ongoing pattern of sexual abuse.
Judge Brandon Johnson criticized the couple for showing no remorse and described their acts as โdeplorable beyond words,โ stating they โmurdered the victimsโ innocence and trust.โ
The abuse, which allegedly began in 2013, and took place in Dixie and Walla Walla, reportedly continued for nearly a decade before it was reported in September 2022.
