Couple arrested at Pilot truck stop

News release from the Pendleton Police Department:

January 2, 2022 at 11:49 a.m., Pendleton Police Department personnel were dispatched to Walmart in Pendleton for a reported theft of merchandise. The loss prevention employee from Walmart advised that a male and a female left the store with a suitcase containing an undisclosed amount of additional store property, without paying for the property. The loss prevention employee obtained the license plate of the vehicle the two unknown suspects left in and provided that to dispatch.

While an officer was responding to Walmart, dispatch ran the license plate through LEDS/NCIC and discovered that it was stolen out of Keizer, Oregon. An attempt to locate on the stolen vehicle was put out to surrounding law enforcement agencies. At approximately 12:16 p.m., a Stanfield police officer located the vehicle at the Pilot in Stanfield and with the assistance of the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Department took both the male and the female into custody for the stolen motor vehicle.

A Pendleton Police Department officer responded to the scene and secured the suspected stolen property from the theft at Walmart. The Pendleton Police Department issued probable cause for the arrest of Kenneth Wayne Felton, 25-years-old from Keizer and Darcie Noel Wetzel-Barnett, 28-years-old from Keizer for Theft II, Theft III. Additionally, Wetzel-Barnett was arrested on an outstanding probation violation warrant out of Marion County. The Stanfield Police Department took control of the stolen vehicle and charges relating to the theft of the motor vehicle will go through the Umatilla County District Attorney’s Office from the Stanfield Police Department.
