JOHN DAY – Grant County Emergency Management Coordinator Eric Bush was on KJDY’s Coffee Time recently, talking about an improvement to the first aid kits for many on-the-ground and in-the-field county employees:

“The Oregon Health Authority Regional Coordinator for this part of the state gave me a call the other day, and said, ‘Hey, we want to buy these Stop the Bleed kits.’

They’re like an advanced first aid kit that focuses on injuries that cause severe bleeding. Several county employees went through the training last year and so they bought us 30 of these kits. It was a two-or-three-thousand-dollar investment by the state.”

Emergency Management Coordinator Bush said that the kits are being distributed to Sheriff’s Office vehicles, folks on the Road Department and other county vehicles.
