PENDLETON – The winter storms that gripped the nation last week delayed shipments of COVID-19 vaccine. That forced the Umatilla County Public Health Department to cancel a vaccination clinic at the end of the week. Director Joseph Fiumara says it has been rescheduled and participants have been notified.
“We’re hoping that most of those folks are still able to arrive this Wednesday as opposed to the regularly scheduled Friday,” he said.
Meanwhile, UCo Health has learned it will be getting more vaccine than before.
“Our new floor that we’ve been told to expect is a total of 1,000 vaccines coming into the county for the next five or six weeks,” Fiumara said.
The health department is planning a vaccination clinic in Pendleton Thursday as well as a second-dose clinic in Hermiston Friday. Details will be released as soon as they are finalized.
