County gives Ukiah a boost

UKIAH – The Camas Prairie Cowboy Convention Event Center in Ukiah is open for business and pleasure. The Umatilla County Board of Commissioners donated $37,500 in emergency relief funds to the facility, which was helped by other grants and donations as well.
“They got some land donated on the north edge of the community,” Murdock said. “They’ve already had some events there.”
Murdock said the events center is a prime example of how spending a little can help a lot in a small community.
“You bring a hundred barrel racers into Ukiah on a weekend and that’s a pretty big impact on those little local businesses,” he said.
