UMATILLA COUNTY – The Umatilla County Board of Commissioners met Tuesday morning and made a big step towards consolidating mental health services with substance abuse disorders.
“We have signed a 90-day agreement with Community Counseling Solutions to begin their management of our mental health activities beginning Dec. 1,” Chairman George Murdock said.
CCS took over management of the county’s substance use disorder services in September.
“They already took over substance ab use and next week they take over mental health, and we needed to approve a temporary agreement so they could start their work,” Murdock said.
Previously, the county itself handled substance use disorder services while Lifeways handled the mental health element. The decision was made to consolidate those services with a different provider this summer.
