PENDLETON – The Pendleton City Council is holding a work session at 6:30 p.m. today. The council will consider a change order to the water tank repainting project for no more than $95,400 to Hancock Sandblast & Paint of Pasco.
The change is due to deeper than anticipated pockmarking on the tankage. The contractor is recommending using a synthetic mortar product. Public works staff supports the additional work because it will increase the longevity of the concrete tanks.
The council will also discuss its four goals. They are housing, infrastructure (mainly streets), economic development, and improving communication between the city and the public.
“We’re going to try and further define how we might do these things and define whether or not we’re making progress,” Mayor John Turner said of the work session.
Following the work session, the council will hold an executive session acting as the Pendleton Development Commission. The topic of the session deals with real property and litigation. The public portion of the meetings is available on Zoom. The meeting ID is 885 7628 0707 and the pass code is 912756.
