Council will discuss Walla Walla’s legislative priorities

WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla City Council will meet today (Monday) at 4 p.m. for a work session to discuss the 2024 federal and state legislative priorities. At the top of the list, funding for U.S. Highway 12 Phase 8 and the U.S. Highway 12/Clinton Street Intersection.

Additional priorities include funding the installation of a roundabout at State Route 125 and Myra Road, along with extending Myra Road south to Taumarson Road.

The council also supports pursuing additional resources for affordable housing, and funding for broadband infrastructure, improved wildland firefighting capacity and fire protection in the Mill Creek watershed, body worn cameras for law enforcement and local recycling.

The work session will held in the council chambers of Walla Walla City Hall and will also be streamed on the city’s website.
