WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla City Council has a budget hearing at its meeting tonight and is also scheduled to vote on the plan. The proposed budget, which is posted on the council agenda at the city’s website, estimates expenditures at just under $220 million for the coming biennium.
The council has several other action items, including approving a bid of less than $2 million to replace the ultraviolet disinfection equipment at the city’s wastewater treatment plant. Other items include adopting the six-year capital facilities plan, and approving spending no more than $78,833 for the fire training tower project.
In addition the council will vote on a two percent cost of living adjustment for non-represented city employees for the 2021 salary schedule. The COLAs do not apply to the city manager or the city attorney.
