COLLEGE PLACE — The College Place City Council will hold a workshop today at 5:30 p.m. Public Works Director Robert McAndrews will report on the low water pressure issue that occurred on Sunday, Aug. 29.

The day before a power outage had occurred and there were no alarms on the backup generator, so public works staff wasn’t sure if it had turned on as it should. McAndrews said his staff has since discovered part of the network system that notifies public works of alarms was not connected to an uninterruptible power supply and that has been corrected.

Staff has also been instructed to physically respond to the site after any power outage to confirm that there are no issues, even if there are no alarms and everything looks alright on the computer.

The council will also discuss the fiscal year 2022 legislative agenda and budget calendar, plus draft a local road safety plan and American Disabilities Act transition plan.

The meeting will be streamed on the city of College Place YouTube Channel and on Zoom. The ID number is 828 2847 6882.
