PASCO – The Pasco City Council will hold a listening session tomorrow (Tuesday) night to gauge the community’s thoughts on the sales of cannabis within city limits. The listening session begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Pasco Police Regional Training Center, 204 West Clark Street.
In 2012, voters in Washington passed Initiative 502, which allowed the retail sales of cannabis, but gave cities the flexibility to prohibit sales within their communities. In 2014, the Pasco City Council prohibited the production, processing, retail sales, and dispensaries of cannabis.
Earlier this year, the Pasco City Council expressed interest in exploring the question of legalized marijuana sales again and is considering allowing some retail sales of cannabis in the city. However, council members want to hear from the community on this question before any decision is made.
