COLLEGE PLACE – The College Place City Council will hear the latest update on the Well No. 6 project at a work session today (Tuesday) at 5:30 p.m. The meeting is streamed live on the College Place YouTube channel.

The city expects the 60 percent design of Well No. 6 to be completed by the end of this month. The city will then review the design with approval expected by the end of April. The hope is it will go out for bids in June.

Also on the agenda is a preliminary report on the potential consolidation of the Green Tank Irrigation District with the city. RH2 Engineering has completed an early draft of that study and also discusses needed upgrades to the distribution system.

The council will consider applying for a USDA Rural Business Development grant that could cover the purchase of land and construction if infrastructure for a possible parking lot downtown. The estimated cost of that project is $500,000. The parking lot would help eliminate the need for project-by-project parking throughout the College Avenue corridor.

The meeting is not a formal one, but rather is a work session. No action will be taken on these issues.
