COLLEGE PLACE – The College Place City Council meets at 7 p.m. today (Tuesday) and will discuss a possible revision of the fireworks ordinance. The topic is slated for information, not immediate action.
The last time the ordinance was revised was in 2017. Fire Chief David Winter said that during the 2020 celebration some residents reached out to the city to ask that the discharge dates for the week shrink to just the day and night of July 4. Currently the fireworks are allowed from July 1-4.
Also at the meeting, the council will consider issuing a request for proposals for the Central College Place Dry Well feasibility assessment and explore a possible grant opportunity for the development of a downtown parking lot.
The meeting is streamed live on the College Place YouTube channel.
