MILTON-FREEWATER – The Milton-Freewater City Council will meet tonight (Monday)
at 7 p.m. in the Albee Room at the public library. The agenda includes calling an
election to approve a five-year local option tax measure to support public transportation
service.
City Manager Chad Morris explains this will renew an existing tax for transportation.
He said the city asks to reduce the tax rate from 37 cents to 27 cents per $1,000 of
assessed property value while still generating $100,000 annually for senior and disabled
transportation services.
