PENDLETON – The Pendleton City Council continues a public hearing on rules governing motorized vehicles in city parks at its regular meeting tonight (Tuesday) at 7. When Bird Scooters applied for a business permit in Pendleton, city officials felt it was time to update park rules.

The proposed changes would allow the operation of electric-powered devices at less than nine miles per hour for vehicles that weigh 100 pounds or less. Those devices would have to yield to all other traffic.

The changes are set for a vote by the council after the public hearing.

Items on the consent agenda include signing two ground leases with Dusty Pace for hangars at the Eastern Oregon Regional Airport, accepting $180,000 in CARES Act funds for transit funding, and authorizing an application to apply for a grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency for repairs needed to the banks of lower McKay Creek.

The meeting is held via Zoom. The ID is 848 8298 2122 and the pass code is 248854.
