COLLEGE PLACE โ€“ The College Place City Council meets this evening (Tuesday) at 7 p.m. and will consider approving right-of-way purchases on Mojonnier Road and authorizing City Administrator Mike Rizzitiello to make offers.

The Washington State Department of Transportation has approved the right-of-way estimate in the amount of $621,091.

The city is planning to reconstruct a portion of Mojonnier Road from South College Avenue to Bluview Lane. This section of roadway, which is in city limits, would entail roadway reconstruction to urban standards. This includes two 12-foot travel lanes, an 11-foot turn lane only at intersections, 8-foot bike lanes, and 6-foot-wide sidewalks. Utilities will be placed underneath the roadway.

Grants have been obtained by the city to help finance engineering and to help pay for construction which is expected to begin between fiscal year 2024 and 2025.
