Council to begin annexation process

WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla City Council will begin the annexation process on four requests filed with the city. The first step will be to schedule public hearings. The council meeting at 6:30 p.m. today (Wednesday) will be streamed live on the city council’s page of the city website.

If the council approves, two of the four requests will have hearings scheduled for April 14. They are a petition for property at Berney Drive and Pleasant Street and a petition for property at 312 Artesia Street.

The second two requests for annexation hearings would be scheduled for April 28. They are property at 505 Hatch Street and property on Cottonwood Road west of Kendall Road.

The council will also hold a public hearing and vote on adopting the Community Development Block Grant action plan for 2021. Home repair programs, public infrastructure improvements, exterior security, and public services are elements of the plan.
