Council discusses Quiet Zone, authorization given to fundraise

BAKER CITY – The Baker City Council met last week and reviewed the “Quiet Zone, at the request of Councilor Guyer.  According to Baker City Manager Jonathan Cannon, “the citizen group was given authorization to fundraise and proceed with pursuing the Quiet Zone. Based on the motion made, the Quiet Zone construction costs will be covered by fundraising efforts and not taxpayer dollars. Once the minutes are approved by Council the language of the motion will be available to the public. The video of the meeting is available on the city website if you would like to watch the discussion.”
