PENDLETON – It is budget time and Pendleton City Manager Robb Corbett says he is seeing good news.
“This year, we’re going to grow significantly because of the reductions that we made,” Corbett said.
The city made cuts in anticipation of problems due to the pandemic in last year’s budget. The fiscal year begins July 1. Corbett said making reductions is not the only reason for the growth.
“That doesn’t even account for the money that we got from the federal government in stimulus, which in total is $3.4 million. I’m going to make a proposal to the budget committee coming up on how that will be used.”
The first meeting of the budget committee is at 7 a.m. on May 4.
