WALLA WALLA – With an excessive heat warning issued by the National Weather Service beginning Saturday and continuing through Sunday, the Walla Walla County Department of Community Health reports First Congregational Church will offer a voluntary cooling center.
Located at 73 S. Palouse St., the cooling center will offer air conditioning, hydration and Wi-Fi for anyone looking for respite from the heat.
The cooling center will be open Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Extreme heat can impact health and pose a risk of heat related illness. Residents are encouraged to increase hydration, plus limit time and activity outdoors. If you must spend time outside avoid strenuous activity, increase water intake, and take frequent breaks in shaded areas.
