Cooler temperatures help fire crews

VALE, OR – According to the Vale BLM, no new fires were discovered on the Vale District. Crews are still working to contain the Twin Peaks fire, at 450 acres. While there is no update on a percentage of containment, crews engaged in mop up operations, and have made it around the entire perimeter of the fire. Fire crews will continue with mop up operations today, to secure the line further interior. 

While cooler temperatures are here, it is important to remember that fuels are still very dry. Please remain diligent in the effort to prevent human caused wildfires while enjoying public lands. Fire restrictions still remain in effect for the Vale District.
