LA GRANDE – (Release from Cook Memorial Library) Cook Memorial Library has collaborated with La Grande’s own Keith Baker for a brand new library card design! The card will be available to all La Grande City residents for free if they are opening a new account or updating an expired one. Current library cardholders will have the option of switching to the new design for just $2.00.

Keith Baker is a beloved children’s book author and illustrator who grew up in La Grande, Oregon. He has always loved books and the library. The library was always his “go-to” place when he wanted to relax or research or recharge.

The library card design was inspired by Baker’s LMNO Peas book series. There are five “pea” books, starting with LMNO Peas. These are available for check-out at the library.

You can also find some of Keith’s original artwork from some of his most popular books, including The Magic Fan, and Big Fat Hen on display at the library. Stop by and have a look!
