HARNEY COUNTY(Released from Harney District Hospital)-Congratulations to Harney District Hospital’s New Year’s Baby 2026!

A girl, Hallie Jo Smith, was born Jan. 3, to Dakota and Miranda Smith of Hines. The New Year’s Baby weighed 7 pounds and 15 ounces and was 20 inches long. Hallie joins siblings, Maverick, age 4, and Mae, age 3, at home.

The Smith family received the New Year’s Baby gift basket containing the following donations from local businesses: diapers, wipes, toys, a saddle wrap, a blanket, and a book from Bank of Eastern Oregon; a $50 gift card from Safeway; bath toys, a wooden toy, and a blanket from Ribbons & Roses; an “Elmo Loves You” book and wooden Fisher-Price toy from The Barn; two soaps, two lotions, and a bag from PharmGirl (Corinne Huseby); sunscreen, lotion, body wash, diaper cream, infant Tylenol, bandages, and a thermometer from the Harney County Health Department; a robe and socks for mom from American Honey; pacifiers, a pacifier holder, a toy ball, two baby toys, a blanket, a baby sleep set, and a photo gram from The Andalusian; a gift certificate for a pedicure from Sadie Dean of Barbed Wire Beauty; a $25 Amazon gift card from Premier Ag, and a $50 gift certificate and baby wipes from Grocery Outlet.
