NORTHEAST OREGON – In a press release yesterday, Oregon Governor Tina Kotek’s office announced a $102 million dollar allocation in shelter funding awards to 22 regional coordinators across Oregon as part of the Statewide Shelter Program. Overseen by Oregon Housing and Community Services, the funding will support emergency shelter operations, outreach, navigation, rehousing, and local stabilization resources for select communities. As remarked by Governor Kotek:
“This program gives communities flexibility to successfully address their unique local needs. The scale and complexity of the problem can feel insurmountable, but we are making progress. We won’t let up until every Oregonian has a safe place to call home.”
Among the recent recipients, Community Connection of Northeast Oregon Inc. made the list. Serving Baker, Grant, Union and Wallowa Counties, Community Connection will officially receive $296,917 dollars for local shelter operations.
