BENTON COUNTY, Washington – The Benton County Board of Commissioners signed a letter Tuesday asking Lineage Logistics to speed up the cleaning process of their Finley site.

It has been more than seven weeks since the warehouse at 224905 E. Bowles Rd. caught fire and it continues to smolder.

In their letter, the commissioners encourage Lineage Logistics “to operate clean-up activities on a 24-hour-a-day rotation for the health, safety, and welfare of the community.”

The letter came on the same day wind caused some additional flare ups at the site. Firefighters from Benton County Fire District No. 1 worked with the demolition crew to put out the hot spots. The difference this time is that the contractor has removed a significant amount of steel and food products, allowing firefighters to reach further into the building’s interior.
